The Cranky Ol' Bat

All Hail the Land Yacht!

Next time you go to fill up, remember, it could always be worse! (Am just finishing up reading "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".....the Whale must have looked a lot like this when Hunter S Thompson and his attorney started on their second Sin City adventure. I don't want to think about what it looked like after.)

There were a few more things that happened on this day in history, including the start of protesting by students in Tiananmen Square, and the Red Baron got shot down.

I believe dr. duke referred to a '72 eldo as the whale and a red '72 impala as the shark.... seems like... as I recall. I don't have a copy handy which one did they water test?

cb, he better be! Damn, that man was brilliant!

half, just checked the book, and it was a 70 or 71 white convertible Coupe de Ville. That was the one they "water tested" in Lake Mead. Not sure if the red convertible was an Impala or not.

Had a 66 Impala once. I loved that car. I loved it more than any guy I ever went out with (except for the Tsar, of course). Damn fine automobile!

For any serious Raul Duke fans I would seriously advise the collected lettres. Thompsons lettres to collection agencies are worth plagerizing. And CB read the pleading letters to his mom (a librarian) rationalizing his urgent need for a '54 Jaguar sedan... :)
