Name That Kid!!
Remember back in April when I said I was going to sort-of be an aunt?
Well, the mama found out yesterday it's going to be a healthy little girl.
So, any of youse guys got a good name for the baby? No guarantees that the mama will use your suggestion, but....if you were having a daughter, what would her name be if it were up to you?
The ground rules:
1) No Madison, Kayla, Ashley or Mackenzie. Those names are SO done, think of something else.
2) Nothing inspired by the drugstore or something icky. ("Lavoris! Stop hitting your sister Chlamydia!")
3) No guys' names. Sorry, but when I think of "James" or "Michael", some little angel playing with a Barbie doll (even a little angel blowing up a Barbie doll, like I would have loved to do) is not the image that comes to mind.
If it were up to me I'd probably pick something like "Maria" or "Margaret". Trust me, those names ain't so common any more out there in kiddieland. (Besides, I like the fact there's about fifty nicknames for either one so you could come up with something that reflects the kid's personality.) Or maybe "Rosalia" because that was my grandmother's name, and I think it's pretty.
So....what would YOU pick??

Ima think they probably don't want to have their child be one of 22 Emily's in the same class, so how about this:
LOML and I have decided on Ingrid Alexandra for the name of our first daughter, when and if we should have one.
(Named for a princess in Norway.)

Esmerelda?
Thessally?
Man... EVERYBODY knows that MoonUnit's a boy's name!

I always think that using blasphemous words makes a great name for any child. "Put that down, Goddammit!", stuff like that.
Lakshmi (goddess of wealth and fortune) or Padmanabha (lotus-naveled one) would be cool. Ganesh, Shiva or Vishnu not so much, being that they are male (but would still be cool).
Pat, Akira, Zaphod, Parker, or Ryan if your into androganous names.
Numbers are also good. Just refrain from using ordinal numbering. Naming the first kid Zero would be pretty harsh, the teasing from other children would be horrible.
'Star Wars' would yeild a cornicopia of great names. If the kid was hairy, Chewbacca. Smart, Yoda. Annoying, Jar Jar. I'm sure you get the point. Shockingly, not many female names in the series, Leia kinda sucks. CAUTION: If you use a Darth name, the kid better be one badass and not a mouthbreather.
The plant kingdom is ripe for names.
Fruit: Peach, Grapefruit, Durian.
Flowers: Rose, Violet, Venus fly trap.
Trees: Olive, Juniper, Ponderosa.
I think I have made my point.

Durian? Jar Jar? Ok, we might name our second born after you, but I fear for your own children....(ok, some of those names are kind of cool. But I draw the line at stinky tropical fruit. Ain't suggesting that one to the mama....no way, no how!)
Cassandra or Ingrid Alexandra are cool, and I like Esmerelda. Just not sure if they'll go with the last name. Guess that's the mama's decision.

So many names. Here's a few I'd consider.
Liberty, she can use Libby for short.
Cherish, Dyanna, Brieanna, Delaney.

How's about Elvira?
Do you know if she is going to be a fan of bad horror movies?
